He is melee like you, poke him when he wants to farm with Q E W out. If he doesn't waste it, you're still stronger than him lvl 2-5. Wait until he wastes it, engage and he should be dead pre 6. His Q is easy to dodge, his shadow is his only escape. Of course that doesn't work so well if you already fed him 5 kills before level 6. Just fight him, wait until he ults and Zhonyas the damage when the mark activates. Firstly, this champion is easy af to counter. Unlike other champions where the outcry would be understandable (I'm looking at champs like Fizz and reverted Leblanc.), Kat can outplay Zed hard. It's literally a skill matchup, if the Zed owns you like this without jungle pressure then he's just a better player and won lane. Zed is one of my favourite match ups with Katarina. So, if you know anything that can help me (runes, builds, laning tips) against this and any other POG CHAMP of the mid lane right now (like leblanc, anivia, fizz), I'll be glad to try it out. I'm never giving up on her, just wish riot would give us some love instead of just hearing communities' babies crying cause they can't run the opposite way of the daggers on the ground. Everything she was supposed to do, Irelia is doing better now. Feels like the old Kat (bad laning and early kill-dependant), and though I prefer new Kat, there's no more fun in playing her. I love Kat, but lately it has been a piece of crap to lane with her, so you either get early kills and snowball or do shit the rest of the game.

And if you get ahead, he will just buy The Black Cleaver for damage and life and Maw of Malmortius for damage, mr and a free shield (that also gives you damage and life steal). Not even talking about his items that cost nothing and by farming 25-30 minions, he comes back with a Serrated Dirk (which means a lot of free damage). Also, his Q cd is lower than kat's so you can't keep trading with him, while he trades, win and farm all at once. And failing once, you get fucked up completely. I know you can dodge it, but sometimes you fail. It also procs electrocute, which is more than enough to take of half to 80% of your life. I mean, really? He throws his shadow in front of you and Q, E, switches with the shadow and basic attack you in no time. Imo, Zed's totally broken and only riot doesn't see it. So, I've been having a lot of trouble against this shitty champion.
